interesting
This was sent to me from an email forward:
There comes a point in your life when you realize...
Who matters ...
Who never did...
Who won't anymore...
And who always will.
So don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they
didn't make it to your future.

boy or girl?!
Well...it's Tuesday night...i am too excited to get to sleep right away cause we get to find out what we're having on Wednesday!!!!!!!! So those who don't want to know...i'm sorry but your going to find out eventually. I am 20 weeks tomorrow so here is what it says!
You're at the halfway mark — congratulations! Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (The way your baby is measured changes now.) He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (although some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

Christmas Party
Last night we went to Don's Christmas Dinner for his work! We had fun dressing up but the party sucked. It was the BIG Christmas party with all the Generals in Don's line of work.......the problem, then had some ghetto people organize it. NOT ONCE did we hear a Christmas song. They hired a Brittany Spear Look-a-Like who sang some White Trash songs. And then they had some Hip Hop songs playing while they had an 'intermission'..... it was so bad! After the intermission they had a cheap comedian who SUCKED and we ended up leaving half way through his act. It was BAD!!! But we were dressed up enjoyed the people we sat with.

My First Blog....
I figured I'd better get something on here before Apryl came down to North Cacalaky and kicked my butt!
It's been colder than all git out - but no snow (or sleet or ice) so that's cool. And I'm not just being a wimp here - it's been getting down into the 20's at night!
Anita and I took a weekend trip to Savannah, GA a couple of weeks ago. Cold, but still nice to get away. We actually ended up partying with three guys from Minnesota. Two of them came down to visit the third and they were heading to the Vikings game in Jacksonville - small world. We took a ghost tour and visited a house that was highlighted on "Ghost Hunters" on the 2005 Halloween special - very creepy, especially the EVP recordings. Somehow we found our old apartment without having an address and where Anita worked 21 years ago!
Speaking of football, how about those Panthers? Tied for first in NFC South. Also, in case you were wondering, the NASCAR Hall Of Fame is still on schedule to open in Charlotte the Spring of 2010!
So far so good on the employment side. Anita's company had a small layoff and we're about to announce one. Luckily we're both in positions that are in demand (today anyway).
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

New Photo Album
Happy Belated Thanksgiving!
Head to rump, your baby is approximately 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead. If you're having a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place. If you're having a boy, his genitals are noticeable now, although he may hide them from you during an ultrasound.
Jeff and I have an appointment on 12/10 to have an ultrasound and find out the sex of the baby! We were on the fence about it before because we wanted it to be a surprise. But, I figured this way we can start planning ahead. I know people who didn't find out an never got their nursery done and had to do it after the baby was born. who would want to do that?!
So that's the news! Hope everyone is doing well and starts using this damn thing a little more often! And it doesn't have to just be us kids....parents can use it too! ::GASP!:: I know it's crazy! It's new technology and all. Ask your kids, they'll teach you.
Love
Apryl and Jeff

Hey
HI everyone,
Not too much new here. Don and I went to a Moroccan Cooking Class yesterday in DC. Very cool! (see photos).
I am 'starting' work today. Not really, just meeting the person I will be working for. I was picked up by General Dynamics, and I am working at an off-site. So I will hopefully start sometime this week. We'll see.
I rented my townhouse out this past week. So that is a step in the right direction. :) Otherwise that is all my news...
Take care!

My weekend
What an AMAZING weekend....
Saturday started with coffee, bagels and a trip to REI to get fitted for a Backpack for our Mt Washington climb in january! At noon I took my teaching license test. Then we met at a friends house for a birthday party.
That night we went to the Shenandoah National Park and camped next to a stream. We brought the dogs and had Sunchips and hot dogs with wine and s'mores. Milo decided he earned the right to sleep on the sleeping pad since it was his first time camping. So I woke up on half the mat with a shivering German Shepherd curled up at my head.
After we cleaned up camp we headed to a trail in side the park that the boys could be on too. The Shenandoah only offers a few trails for dogs so it we were limited to where we could go. The Hike was AMAZING!! The trees are SO BEAUTIFUL! (photo posted soon!)
After the trail we stopped at a great Mexican restaurant for a late breakfast (1030) and then headed to Middleburg, VA to get on the Mt Bikes. Butch found a great trail for us in our new book where you bike the trails/dirt roads to vineyards! SO AWESOME! We stopped at a Swedenburg Vineyard and had a glass of wine and sat on the edge of the field and enjoyed the area. The bought a bottle there and rode back to the town where we stopped at a wine cellar. Bought another bottle and then headed to the truck where the boys were waiting.
On the trip back to the house, we stopped for dinner at a "kabob" place. But it was more middle eastern then your average kabob.....IT WAS SO GOOD! We couldn't get enough of the food. Very Authentic.
That night we went to see Cirques Del Soul - Kooza at the National Harbor. It was a WONDERFUL SHOW! We had 2nd row seats!

On a lighter note:
1.Renee, my mom and I went to Bayfield for Applefest which was nice.
2.We had to put our cat, Jafar, down sunday night as he had a ton of issues from cancer on. Renee struggled with it as she was doing everything she could for about a week but he was just getting worse. I went with her to put him down, which she did, but i left before she actually did it. It's weird going from being home all day with him to being alone with my computer and music. I went from a guy who hated cats to a guy who shead a tear (that's right i cried a touch and if you have a problem with that Dave or Tom I'm right here. Sorry still a little emotional) and now planning on getting another cat.
3.My mom is most likely moving into our house this weekend.
4.Renee and I are going to Vegas in February as she has a conference out there - that should suck.
5.Looking forward to going to Colorado for Christmas but it will be weird as Renee is going to North Carolina.
6.Health wise things are what they are.
7.Despite the length of this blog entry I am still unemployed!
Hope all is well - Ryan

13 weeks and test results!
Thursday, October 16, 2008
12th week...
For some reason I put 12 weeks on my last entry, that was only 10. So on Tuesday I went to the clinic again for Prenantal Screens and Tests. That only means they will test for down syndrom or trisomy 18 (which I have no idea what that is). So we went in and got a good 30-40 minute ultra sound! It was awesome! We could see arms, legs, the baby SUCKING IT'S THUMB!! For all this time I was trying to really disattach myself, not give it a name, not wonder if it was a boy or girl, but I couldn't help it this time. It's real now. The baby was flipping, kicking, waving, EVERYTHING. So I thought I would share some pictures we got with you guys! We don't get the results for a while so as soon as I get those I will blog!
~Apryl
Ok so the pictures in the upper left: Top one is the baby sucking it's thumb and the bottom one is of the whole body and a little leg!!!
The 2 next to that: Top one is the baby waving and the bottom one shows the heart beat and where the line is across the picture where it breaks is the baby's heart!
