Wedding Update

CALLING ALL MASON JAR USERS!

Please save your glass canning / mason jars for me! I am planning on using then as vases for the reception. For those living in MN you can drive down with them. For those in NC I can pick them up the beginning of November when I will be in Wilmington racing the Beach to Battleship Ironman.

Thanks Everyone!

Avery Mae Riebe

Well, we did it! We officially are parents, and loving EVERY minute of it! Sunday night Jeff and I had dinner after dad and sue stopped by to say hello, labor pains started immediately after dinner. Although I was not aware of what contractions felt like, I found out a couple of hours later that they sucked!! We called the hospital at 10 and they said to wait an hour and if they continue, to just come in. I couldn't take it any longer and we left at 10:45. We got to the hospital and Jeff wheeled me upstairs (knocking me into walls cause he didn't know how to drive the chair!) and we got to the 4th floor and they were ready for me. I was introduced to Judy (who would later be described as a SAINT) and they whisked me to a room and had me get dressed.

Now, people LOVE to share their stories, as I have learned these past 9/10 months. One that I LOVED was you will forget all the pain after you see your baby! SO NOT TRUE! Trust me, I had an awesome experience, but SHIT! Those contractions about made me pass out! So when the doctor came in and asked if I would be having an epidural, Jeff answered for me saying "Oh...she'll TAKE the epidural!" LOL! When the anesthesiologist came in he asked if I had questions and I just told him I didn't want to see the needle! Nothing hurt. I felt a pinch where the Novocain went in but the actual epidural?! Nothing!! It was a lifesaver! I practically kissed the doctor when he was finished cause I was FLYING HIGH! I managed to get some sleep, until I was woken up with some more pains. They gave me more drugs in my epidural and I was fine. I was also given Pitosin and with in an hour I was ready to start pushing!

The actual physical labor part was a breeze! (That is for you brooke! Trust me, it's not bad at all, at least not for me!) When I started pushing Judy, the saint, said "OK, grab the back of your legs take a deep breath, let it out, then take another one and PUSH for ten seconds...let that breath out take another one and push! We will do that 3 times in a row!" I couldn't feel ANYTHING! So at one point I made the pushing face that you see on TV, opened an eye, looked at Judy and asked her if anything was happening. She just laughed and said yes! I fell asleep at one point, to be woken up and told to push again, being I couldn't feel my contractions. I pushed for an hour and a half and Avery Mae was welcomed into the world at 6:32am. Weighing in at 9lbs 7oz!! I almost died from shock at her weight!

The first day was awesome cause I was numb and feelin good! The 2nd day was stressful, and full of visitors. And today was great cause we got a visit from Gary in the morning, mom showed up to help us pack and we were out around 1:30! We got home today set Avery, who was still in her carseat, in the living room and let the cats get to know her. They look at her like she's an alien and ignore her.

So far Jeff and I have been hanging out watching TV and falling absolutely in love with this tiny little girl who takes my breath away. I never thought there was such a feeling of love for someone other than your significant other. But MOVE OVER JEFF! Someone took over! LOL! I'm kidding :).....sorta.

Well, I just wanted to thank everyone for the texts, the visits, the flowers, the love, everything!

We can't wait for you all to meet Avery and she can't wait to meet all of you!

Love always,

Jeff, Apryl and Avery!

It's the final COUNTDOWN!

Oh....my....god! I am going to be a mom in like 48 hours or something! Jeff is cool as a cucumber and I am FREAKING OUT! I just can't believe the time is almost here!

Jeff and I are scheduled to be at the hospital on Monday at 6am, then we're going to start the induction process with Pitosin. We won't have anyone come to the hospital too early, just cause there is nothing to see, and i don't need people pacing and making me nervous. SO. Jeff and I are going to hang for a little bit and then call people when it is almost time!

So next time I blog I should have some pictures of new baby girl Riebe. Still no name for sure but we will know when we see her!

I hope everyone is doing well!

Love,
Apryl & Jeff

Hi family!

Just a little update on the Butchers. Don is at the last stop before he get to his destination. He hasn't slept in a bed since Sunday night.

I have started my Ironman Training. Its going to be a rough and tough 6 months missing him and getting all this training in! I had an hour swim last night and an our bike ride tonight.

Sounds like Apryl is almost done baking that baby of hers....if Baby X doesn't pop out soon she will over burn in the oven!! I am planning to come home sometime in May to see her.

That's all the news I have from the DC area.

Love,
Sarah B.

another dr. appt.

well another dr. appt down and nothing much happening. things are moving along slowly. BUT, the good news is, if i haven't had the baby by 4/26 then they will induce me 4/27 at 6am! Which is actually what i am hoping for cause my doctor will be in the hospital that day, and she wanted to plan for that day so she could be there. that makes me feel better! right now the baby is about 7 lbs.

i am getting excited, but also want to throw up cause i am so scared.

what makes me laugh though...she was talking to me about pushing. wasn't something that i wanted to talk about but she said "push like you POOP!" i busted out laughing and said well i am a hostetler! i learn from the best!

well hope everyone is doing well. i would like to see more posts on here and would also like to inform everyone that jeff and i have entered in a NHL playoff bracket that ryan has put together. i am excited to school a bunch of boys and watch them all cry. makes me feel better :))

no damn baby yet. yes, i did refer my soon to be first born child as a damn baby. i can't take this much longer! i hurt, i can't see my feet, i waddle, and i get the "you haven't had that baby YET" comment from FAR TO MANY PEOPLE!!

So...let's say a little prayer or something to help WILL this baby out!
