I lived!

I made it through my first baby shower yesterday! It was on the in-law side (which still surprises me everyone made it out alive). Baby received a TON of awesome gifts! I also got comments like "are you sure your not having twins?!" and "you look like you could give birth any minute!"...nice huh? Apparently no one has filters anymore. I also was told I "BETTER HAVE A GIRL" after receiving all pink clothes, to which I replied "well if it isn't I at least picked out a boys name, Jayson!" My wonderful self proclaimed "Favorite" mother-in-law replied "like Jason on friday the 13th!"... ::sigh:: I like to thank god everyday for blessing me with her.

BUT! When I got home Jeff had the changing table and crib all set up! So I will have to take some pictures and put them up!!

Miss and Love everyone!

I like to think I'm famous in some way...

Today................I cut the hair of a man who has been on TV! Now, he's not a news anchorman or a weatherman or even a sports star.

for those of you not familiar with the show, The First 48, on A&E Thursdays at 9pm....it's a reality crime show about homicide detectives who have 48 hours to solve the case or their odds of catching the suspect is cut in half. They have recently come to MN, and today, detective Folkens came into work for a haircut. THEE DETECTIVE FOLKENS! AND I CUT HIS HAIR! And let me tell you I did a damn good job!

It wasn't until the end of the haircut that he told me he worked for Mpls Homicide and I asked him about the show and he told me he was on the show a couple of times. I asked him about a certain episode called "Candy Man" and he was the detective on that case. Infact he went to work at 3:30 this morning to fill out paper work for that case!! Oh my god! Anyway, I asked him about the case. On the show a homeless man (go figure) was found dead and it was determined it was another homeless man (again...) who killed him. SO! They bring in the homeless man who killed "Candyman" and he had changed clothes in the mean time. The man leans back and puts his feet on the table and casually talks to the detectives. On his shoes...BLOOD! Moron! Detective Folkens said they always catch the "not so smart criminals".

Here is a link to his profile! Check out the show if you haven't seen it! It's ADDICTING.

Now anyone who wants my autograph...just let me know! I mean, I'm practically famous now!

::sigh:: I am such a loser.

Soul Mate

"A soulmate is someone who has locks that fit our keys, and keys to fit our locks. When we feel safe enough to open the locks, our truest selves step out and we can be completely and honestly who we are; we can be loved for who we are and not for who we're pretending to be. Each unveils the best part of the other. No matter what else goes wrong around us, with that one person we're safe in our own paradise. Our soulmate is someone who shares our deepest longings, our sense of direction. When we're two balloons, and together our direction is up, chances are we've found the right person. Our soulmate is the one who makes life come to life."

Richard Bach

Well if pregnancy wasn't enough...

I now have gestational diabetes. Y.A.Y.

I found out last week and went to a class yesterday. Apparently this can just happen. So now I am on a strict diet until I have the baby.

I check my glucose levels 4 times a day and pee on some weird color changing stick (more info than you wanted to know, huh?) :)

So I will keep you updated. Not about the peeing thing though...that's kinda gross.

I'm officially 29 weeks. Apparently 37 weeks is full term! Cross your fingers!

WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!

Don told me earlier in the week that Saturday was going to be OUR DAY and he was planning it all. He said it was to make up for the hard week of homework, messed up Peru plans and crappy weather.

So Saturday morning came and we were up super earlier. Both of us ready to start the day! Don suggested a run and I went to check the weather outside while I let the dogs out. Since the Adventure Race in -5 degrees I have been very apprehensive to do ANYTHING in the cold (since I still have a funny feeling in two of my fingers). So I wimped out and we watched a movie until 10. He told me we were going Ice Skating in DC (an out door rink) but first we had to stop at the mall. We went to Potomac Mills to shop a little and get some lunch. We walked the ENTIRE MALL (weird I thought since we aren't really mall walkers or shoppers) but he told me it would be a nice treat to use the gift cards we got for Christmas on something for ourselves. I stopped in Harry and David's to look at some dishes and when I came out he told me that since today was OUR DAY we should get our photo taken at a the photo booth. So we sat down and went through all the options for background and size and everything. And as the camera on the machine started its count down, he said "Sarah Look!" (As photo #1 was being taken). And I looked down on a HUGE DIAMOND RING! All I could do was kiss him. The photo booth took 4 photos and of course I was kissing him in all but 1 of them. I didn't realize it was going to take 4 photos. I thought we were only going to get one, which he said in the being "let's kiss for it". LOL oh well!

After we were done kissing he said, "So did you say yes?!?!" J (Of Course I did!) We were both teary eyed (don't tell him I told you that!). I was shaking when he put the ring on my finger. It is BEAUTIFUL! I can't stop looking at it.

When we got in the car he told me EVERYONE KNEW! The neighbors, my family, his family, all ours friends! He has been going to see Eddie (the Jeweler) for 2 months. He picked it ALL OUT. From the band to the stone…EVERYTHING!  I was (and still am) amazed at all the work, time and love he put into putting this ring together. It is one of a kind. It's Amazing. I couldn't have picked out a better ring to depict our love.

After the mall he took me ice skating in DC. It was COLD but we lasted 30 minutes or so. Then he had a couples massage set up for us. It was great! He even scheduled a nap in after the massage for us. Although we didn't nap instead we emailed, my called, text people to let them now. Which in turn blew our phones up with congratulations text messages, but we loved it!

He had dinner reservations for us at a wonderful Steak and Wine restaurant in McLean VA, called Flemings. It was AMAZING! The food was wonderful and the environment was great!

We went home and decided we wanted to watch a movie. Well all we had from Netflix was a Mt Bike video and a documentary of S.W.A.T. teams…I chose the S.W.A.T. movie and was asleep in 15 minutes.

I woke up Sunday morning at 6am! Bright and early to start the day with my Fiancé!
