7 Weeks (we think?)

Officially, we have a doctor appointment next Friday. We will find out how far along I am. To the left is a interesting picture of what my baby might look like right now....

No one told me that babies have tails when they are this small...eew. And don't tell me that it's just mine. I researched...trust me.

So I get weekly news letters about what I should expect each week. This week talks about cravings...this is what part of the article said:
Though uncommon, some women experience unusual, even bizarre yearnings called pica cravings. Women with this condition long to eat non-food substances like sand, dirt, bleach, even cigarettes. Doctors still don't know why women would have these kind of cravings.

Sick huh?! I will blog about next week. I think next week it looses the tail or something. Let's just hope it looks like an actual human.

Holy Sh*t

Sorry for the language but i dont get on the blog for a week and i return to find out that Apryl and Jeff are pregnant! Congratulations to both of you. I'm so jealous Jeff you now have a permanent designated driver, just one of the perks for a father to be! I always told you Apryl that you would be before me and you denied and denied. I love that Jeff actually thought that Verizon sent you guys a pregnancy test, way to go smart guy. Once again Congratulations! I also find out in a week away from this blog that Sarah is now a biker chick, tom bought dolls years ago, brooke is in college and high school at the same time (happy birthday on sunday - i thought i would do you a favor and send your card out so you get it after your birthday as an extra surprise not because i forgot to send it out on time), Jordan likes a movie that no way can it be good, and Tom and Sue can never retire! This is all very over whelming for an unemployed guy that sits at his computer everyday looking for a job. Speaking of that i got an offer to work in China for a year teaching ESL and starting up a juvenile program. They will fly Renee out 5 times to see me so Bejing here i come! Just kidding i don't think at this time in my life China is the right fit but it's a start. That's all for now and now i know to not go a week without looking at this blog. Hope all is well with everyone and congratulations once again Jeff and Apryl!

thanks everyone!!

Jeff and I are so excited! I have made my first doctors appointment for September. Apparently that's the earliest they would even consider taking me. We have officially told everyone. The day we told jeff's mom and dad, we were at Borders getting all the pregnancy books. When we got to the house Jeff's mom asked what we got at Borders and Jeff showed her the books. She flipped and cried and flipped again. Then I cried. It was funny.

Grandma Hoss caught on right away... I barely got a word out and she guessed. She was crazy happy too.

On Sunday we went to the Renaissance Festival to tell mom. I hired a friend of our from out there, his actor name is "Shamus...the insulter". I didn't ask him to insult her but to complement her. He began telling her all these compliments and then finished with "you are a wonderful wife, or partner which ever you would like to say, mother.....and soon to be....grandmother." I bawled and she bawled. I have great pictures. I wish I could have gotten pictures with the rest of the family and friends we told. If you could have seen the pictures!

Well now I have been reading up, wondering why I didn't read this crap before I got pregnant cause maybe I would have thought this whole thing through.... :))
The book is OK, but I think I just need to experience it for myself, and not let a book tell me what's going to happen.

I talked to a nurse on the phone and she said the due date is on or around April (how appropriate) 21st. So I will keep everyone posted!!

Love you all!

Love the News !

Tom and I were thrilled when we got the news we will be grandparents. Tom can finally quit bugging Apryl and Jeff to "get busy". We'll see if we ever get to babysit however because of "interesting" comments Tom makes about children (brats) . It's all in jest-he already has sparkles in his eyes about being a grandpa.
I have to share how we got the news....When Sarah and Don were in town we had the kids over for dinner, after dinner we played nickel, nickel, during the game Apryl said "before I forget I want to show you the paint colors we chose for our bedroom and the second bedroom, she lays down the first swatches (beautiful deep, rich colors), then she said this is what we are thinking of for the second bedroom- swatches of pastel pinks and pastel blues, I screeched and said what are you telling us? Thus the news, it was so fun. We did actually finish the game of nickel, nickel.
I already told Tom he can't retire because this is going to be expensive (I love to shop for baby/kid clothes). For quite some time everytime we have been in a store and pass cute little outfits or in my case little, teeny shoes-I say to Tom "aren't these adorable?"
Congratulations Apryl and Jeff !!
Love to all three of you,
Grandma Sue

I can't wait to be a Grandpa, now I can use one of those "Tickle me Elmo's" that I bought 3 years ago, for the Grandchildren, and I get to buy golf clubs for my new Grandchild, how soon do we know if they are right handed or a lefty.

good news!

Hey! It's apryl and jeff! We thought we would put this blog to good use! We want to spill the news that we're having a baby! We're pregnant! So all that harassing can now stop! Just kidding. I have not seen a doctor yet but I would assume the due date would be around the end of April to the beginning of July. So this time next year we will have a new addition!

I have already begun using the infamous "I can't...I'm pregnant" line. It's working wonders!! Jeff is unbelievably excited.

I told him last Tuesday. It's a funny story. I thought it would be funny to tell him by pretending there is a package for him. So a made up a package, put the tests in side and said it was from Verizon (we have been having issues with them). So when he called on his way home from work I asked him to get the mail. When I heard the garage door open I watched him get the mail. He saw the package and smirked a little. I thought he knew.

He walked in the door and began bragging that Verizon must just LOVE him cause they sent him something in the mail! I said, "Wow! That's nice of them!" He opened it up and had this look of absolute disgust. He said, "Oh my god...Verizon sent us pregnancy tests!!! Why the HELL would they send us pregnancy test?!" I looked at him weird and said, "I don't know!" he began studying them and saw that they said pregnant and began to stutter and look at me the back at the test and so forth. Once he finally understood he was very very happy.

SO...everyone knows BUT my mom and jeff's parents. We will be telling them today and mom on Sunday at the ren fest.

So we hope this brings good news to everyone! :)))

Love you all!

1st cars

Am I to assume that you didn't like your "Grocery Go-Getter", kid these day just don't appriciate the finer things in life.
Heck Gary and I had a 1963 Plymouth Fury with a 3 speed "Push Button" automatic transmission and a 318 engine ...... sweeeeeet!! Gary decided it was a Hot Rod and put one of those little steering wheels on it, and installed an 8 traack tape player. (for those of you that don't know what an 8 track is, it's the size of a VHS tape that only played music (noise). I still remember Gary going up and down Part Street bangin through those push buttons.

first car memories...

damn dad...i want a jeep! all i got was a 1980 Chevy Malibu WAGON!!! Which was later destroyed in a demolition derby thanks to jeff. I think I got that car from Dad who got it from Gary(?). I had to park that boat in the free parking lot at anoka for fear someone might ACTUALLY see me...

Jeff read the other first car entries and laughed cause he had a 1985 S10 with a wood bumper and a different color front fender, no muffler, and no working radio...it was a beauty.

So Brooke...we are all envious...I would make sure you watch your back cause those of us who got crap might fly out there and take your lovely car >:)

I feel your pain Ryan!! Here's a Picture of my First Car!

Oh how times have changed...

Not too much happening in my world, although I did get a new job at 3D Systems in Rock Hill, SC. I'll be working with two attorneys in the Patent and Trademark department. Check out their website: http://www.3dsystems.com/ After 3 interviews I was exhausted but excited to land the job. So Ryan if you need any tips or help with your resume, just let me know.

SURFSIDE BEACH!!

Wow last week was crazy!

Lets see saturday at my softball tournie i got hit with a bat while catching and im still in a splint.

Then sunday dad took me to surfide beach so i could meet up with my friend and her family.

Sunday night i convinsed my dad to take me to get my cartilage pierced(pictures below) while my friend got her nose pierced!

Then throughout the week i learned how to surf for the first time and its not easy, but its fun!
I went clubbing, ate a crab cake for the first time, and got tan! Gary i think im catching up to ya! :DD ha. it was a blast!
So i was hoping that everyone could maybe come down next summer and rent a beach house for brookes graduation! :P

the PAIN!

Dad walking out of Dr.Piercings "Look more idiots going in".....He hated the idea of this. :PP

Light Blue; my birthstone!

I think i know what i am doing??????????????

Here's my attempt at following Apryl's directions, which were perfect. Where do i start? Of course, things have changed a great deal since i got my first car. I remember my dad taking pictures of me as i stood next to a 1976(?) Thunderbird purchased from my godfather and now seeing Brooke standing in front of her 1993 Geo tracker, i mean 2005 Jeep Liberty brought back so many memories! Sure your first vehicle is a Jeep Liberty Brooke but do you have flip up head lights lights and enough room for 14 of your closest friends? Thanks for the chick magnet Dave! Now that i think about this i still don't have as nice of a vehicle as you Brooke. I wouldn't be a proper godfather to you Brooke if i didn't send you a pair of fuzzy dice to hang from your rear view mirror. That's still cool isn't it?

Now that I've rambled on here is a quick update on me. I just got back today from Vegas where i slept for approximately 8 hours in four days, lost money, assaulted my liver, ate at only one buffet, enjoyed a fantastic pool at the Golden Nugget, and had a great time with 11 other guys! I'd love to share more about Vegas but we all know that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas! My follow up treatments have gone fairly well but this month has been crazy with appointments as i am losing my job as of August 20th so i pushed all of my future appointments back into August so it feels like every other day i am in one of those hospital gowns that leaves little to the imagination. Now that i am back from Vegas i need to get serious about finding a job which means searching, sending resumes, interviewing, getting rejected, and then finally finding another job that i love so much. I think if i want to find a job i might have to update my resume from 1998 where my job experience included a liquor store and a gas station! Since i need to take another nap as Vegas still lingers in me i must sign off now. Hope all is well with everyone and great idea with this Apryl.

Oh ya, Renee is good too! I am such a thoughtful husband to throw that in.

Update from Brooke.

i am so happy apryl came up with this idea! it sounds like so much fun! here's some news:

1. i got my first car thanks to my amazing parents! its a black '05 jeep liberty. dad wants to take pictures this weekend so i'll put them up on here.
2.school starts soon.. BOO! i'm taking a college experience class every tuesday night, so that i can get college credit and high school credit...plus i get to leave school early everyday then come back to pick Jordan up.
3.i've been obsessed with this new book series its called the Twilight Saga. http://www.thetwilightsaga.com/ i've read two of the four books so far and can not wait until the movie comes out in december. It is compared with Harry Potter, but it is about a girl who falls in love with a Vampire. WAY BETTER THAN HARRY POTTER! i think they are going to make four movies as well.
4. Eddie's Place is going okay. It gets boring standing for four hours waiting to sit people down, but you gotta do what you gotta do to get the cash!
5.Last March/April i bought Richard (the boyfriend) tickets to the Rascal Flatts/Taylor Swift concert for his birthday and last sunday was the concert. we went early and grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and brought tons of food while watching the undercover cops bust underage drinkers and have them ask if they can get some hot dogs.

Here's some pictures!

I'm trying this out, and not sure if I'm doing it right
